Greg Zak – HIADA’s 2010 Quality Dealer of the Year

“In all labor there is profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty.” Proverbs 14:23

Labor is not necessarily fun and sometimes places us not where we expected to end. However lack of action and lack of belief gets us nowhere. Greg did not take the “lacking” path and while success was not immediate, the road sometimes difficult, and many events were not planned, faith, diligence and patience paid off.

WHY SHOULD I BUY WORKERS COMP?*

WHY SHOULD I BUY WORKERS COMP?*

Last month, we talked about some of the ways small businesspeople can protect themselves by being proactive in the management of their insurance program. Let’s expand on that same idea this month and discuss the purchase of workers comp insurance.

PROTECT YOURSELF

PROTECT YOURSELF

Life as a small businessperson is filled with pitfalls, seems as if there’s a new “gotcha” on every corner and the old ones never disappear. I’ve never bought and sold cars, but I’ve been self-employed and am familiar with the need to watch one’s back at every turn. It’s the little things that can cost a ton of money and time. As they say, the devil is in the details, and they can cost even a prudent man his business. It behooves us to take reasonable precautions in our day-to-day business operations.

Recently, I received a letter from a dealer that my agency has insured for over twenty years. Not only is he a good customer, he is a good friend, but I thought both of those things were in jeopardy when I read his note:

“Dear Ann, I appreciate the relationship we have had over the last twenty plus years, but I do not appreciate the audit results. I am going to pay the required amount, but next year, I will be looking for a new insurance agency. Thank you, Dan Keetch. Keetch Motors Inc”

READ YOUR POLICY!

READ YOUR POLICY!

I know you have all seen flyers or transmittal letters or whatever forms that come with your garage liability, property, commercial auto and random other insurance policies. Some agents do a recap of the coverage. Some simply enclose the contract, but most all include an admonition of: READ YOUR POLICY.

Why?

The easy answer to that question is: Because we will die someday and leave somebody behind that needs some money because we lived.

The goal of automotive Internet marketing is not to sell cars online – it’s to get potential customers to see your car, come into your dealership, and ultimately purchase a vehicle. To get consumers to move forward through this process, your online presentation must create value in the minds of shoppers. Essentially, you’re telling potential customers why they should choose you.
